Hello, all you lovely readers of books!
I’m taking this time today to bring you a little update from the world of books. “The Blood Mage” by Aimee Davis releases today! It picks up from where The Wheel Mages ended last year. Or actually, three years from then in the fantasy world. I’ve just started reading a courtesy copy of the book sent over very graciously by Aimee and I just can’t seem to be able to put it down! ( I know, there are just too many exclamations today but if you’ve read The Wheel Mages, you’d get where my excitement is coming from)
So, don’t let this day pass you by without grabbing a copy of this book for yourself. Trust me, you will be thanking me later.
If you’re of the overly cautious type, I will be having a review up for you in absolutely no time at all, considering the speed at which I’m simply devouring pages right now. As a bonus, I also have an interview with the Author planned for you as soon as I finish reading the book. So, yay! It would be my first ever interview and of a person whom I admire very much. I shall count on your encouragement and support.
Here’s a preview of what the book entails –
Back Cover (synopsis): Monster. Murderer. Oathbreaker.
Three years after the events leading to the deaths of her friend and lover, twenty-one-year-old Alena Kozlov is still trying to outrun her past. But the darkness within her is not something she can simply leave behind.
The nightmares plaguing her become reality when a familiar face seeks her out in her isolated desert home bearing news that awakens all she’s tried to keep locked inside. There’s a promise she made long ago she’s determined to keep, even if it means she will have to tear what remains of herself, and her world, apart.
To save her friends, she may have to become the monster once more. But fear is not for the damned.
To decode it a bit, here’s a gist of the story so far (Honestly though, you have got to read The Wheel Mages) – In the first book, Alena, our protagonist in a fantastical world, had to resort to performing blood magic in order to escape the evil clutches of Allard. Obviously, doing blood magic is outlawed. Alena also ended up killing numerous people in the process. Her love and also her Master, Nikolai is dead too. She has absolutely nothing to live for anymore and is ridden with guilt. She thinks of herself as a monster not fit to remain in society anymore.
In this simply put story-line, we, the readers, are treated to an entirely new magical world, a place called the Sanctuary/Sanctum and different kinds of mages – fire, water, blood, etc. So, if you’re a fan of Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Dark Artifices, The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, I suggest you be very prompt in adding both these books to your library. ( I have deliberately refrained from describing the books in detail in order to limit the possibility of spoilers.)
You can get THE BLOOD MAGE here.
Also, also, how mesmerizing is the cover! I kept looking at it for a good five minutes before moving to the first page.
